President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared July 27 of each year a working holiday in observance of the founding anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo in the Philippines.

Hence, July 27 will be known as “Iglesia ni Cristo Day,” in accordance with Republic Act 9645, signed into law by the President on June 12, 2009.

July 27 is also the date of this year’s State of the Nation Address to be delivered by the President on the day Congress resumes its regular session.

This law, then Senate Bill 3281, was filed on May 27, 2009 by Senators Ramon Revilla, Jr., Juan Miguel Zubiri, Francis Escudero and Manuel “Lito” Lapid, amending Section 26, Chapter 7 of Executive Order No. 292, otherwise known as the Revised Administrative Code of 1987.

Therefore, Sec. 26, Chap. 7 of EO no. 292 now includes July 27 as the INC Foundation Day in the list of Special Holidays to be observed annually in the country.

INC day 1

INC day 2

Our country is not that rich that we can afford to add a baseless and senseless IGLESIA NI CRISTO HOLIDAY.

Holiday means non-working day for the employees, possible additional pay for those who will be coming to work, which also means a burden to employers

And celebrating the foundation day of INC which teaches that Jesus Christ is not a GOD is a burden to our soul.

Can you imagine yourself staying at home on the 27th of July every year just because it’s the Founding Anniversary of the INC?

If you’re a teacher, can you imagine telling a student that you have no class on the 27th of July every year because it’s the Founding Anniversary of the INC?

What are the bases of declaring a holiday?

As far as I can remember, we have Rizal day because one of our national heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal died on December 30, 1896 for telling the truth against the Spanish priests and the government.

Andres Bonifacio was born on November 30, 1863 and he was among our heroes who started revolution against the Spanish regime, that’s why we have Bonifacio Day.

Now, some Politicians want us to mark our calendars on July 27 because it’s the INC Founding Anniversary?

Is it because Felix Manalo registered the INC on July 27 and spread LIES about Jesus Christ (NOT A GOD etc.), This is the reason why were going to have INC holiday? What a crap.

What’s their reason for declaring it, anyway?

According to the statement released by Malacanang, they declared a special day for the INC for playing significant and active roles not only in the spiritual and moral formation of the people over the past several decades but in nation building as well.

Excerpt from an article printed in Philippine Daily Inquirer dated July 07, 2009 written by Christian V. Esguerra –

“President Arroyo wishes to congratulate in advance the INC, at present under the stewardship of Executive Minister Eraño Manalo and Deputy Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo, on this year’s landmark anniversary,” Malacañang said in a statement.

“Likewise, the President wishes to thank the INC for the very active and significant roles its leaders and members have always played not only in the spiritual and moral formation of our people over the past several decades, but in nation-building as well,” the Palace said.

Really?

For all I know, they designated July 27 as a special day for the INC because they believe that this church denomination can make them win by seeking its so-called bloc support in elections.

What a pity.

This only shows that the current government implements baseless and senseless laws in favor of the few who practice inequality and injustice.

I just hope that these politicians courting INC votes realize that they can’t win in 2010 elections because the INC doesn’t really have the number.

The INC only projects that they still have it, but the truth is, they don’t.
